Who we are

The Mongo Forever Smiling Foundation (MFSF) is a 501(3)(c) non-profit organization dedicated to providing scholarships to deserving Christian students, enabling them to pursue higher education goals while upholding Christian values and contributing positively to their communities, just like Christopher Lomongo embodied throughout his life.

We raise money through our annual Mongo Forever Smiling Co-Rec Quads Tournament held here, at Seeger's Sandbar at WSVC, typically in July.

About Mongo

Christopher Lester Lomongo, "Mongo"

November 21, 1985 - July 30, 2022

Christopher Lomongo, also known as "Mongo," passed away unexpectedly on July 30, 2022 at the young age of 36.

Mongo was born in New Orleans, Louisiana and he grew up in Kenner. He attended St. Philip Neri and Archbishop Rummel High School. At SPN, his love for volleyball was born as he was on the boys' volleyball team during his middle school years. In high school, this love transitioned to beach volleyball. He became known as the "Flying Hawaiian" on the courts. At his 2004 Rummel Graduation, he graduated Cum Laude and received the prestigious Jean Baptiste De La Salle Award for being an excellent Christian. Chris bled purple and gold and graduated from Louisiana State University in 2009. In addition to playing volleyball, he also enjoyed playing basketball and poker with friends, fishing, and being around the beach. He was proud to be a Filipino and also a diehard LSU and Saints fan.

Mongo was born with the kindest heart, a big smile for everyone he met, and a "live every day to the fullest" attitude.
